Meeting Overview:

Major agenda items are: Updates and committee reports, including 2018 Salmon Recovery Council meeting schedule, common resolution for use by WRIA 8 partners to the interlocal agreement when ratifying the WRIA 8 Plan Update, draft Council letter to the Army Corps of Engineers leadership supporting critical infrastructure repairs, and consideration of draft 2018 WRIA 8 federal and state legislative priorities; review and approval of ‘consent agenda’ items including Cooperative Watershed Management grant program funding guidance for the 2018 grant round and recommended project additions and administrative updates to the Four-Year Work Plan; hear a presentation from National Marine fisheries Service and King County’s Mitigation Reserve Program about a new voluntary permitting program to promote shoreline habitat restoration, environmentally friendly pier and shoreline designs, and streamlined environmental permitting; discussion of draft technical and programmatic priorities recommended for funding using available carryforward funds in the WRIA 8 budget; and, a Success Story presentation from Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust on their Forest and Fins educations program.
