Annual WRIA 8 Salmon Tour

Tour Focus:
The 2013 WRIA 8 Salmon Tour focused on three large-scale high priority project sites in the watershed. Visited sites included:- The completed levee removal and large-scale floodplain reconnection project at Rainbow Bend on the Cedar River;
- The Issaquah Hatchery Dam removal project to improve fish passage and enable salmon to access 11 miles of high quality spawning habitat on Issaquah Creek; and
- The floodplain restoration projecton on Lower Bear Creek in Redmond.
Tour participants attended the Project Completion Celebration at Rainbow Bend, heard about general habitat protection and restoration in WRIA 8, and learned about the needed fish passage and general infrastructure improvements at the Hiram H. Chittenden (a.k.a. Ballard) Locks.
