Watch salmon migrating up the fish ladder at Ballard's Chittenden Locks mid-June through October, with the best viewing July through September. Free one hour tours begin at the visitor center every day at 1 p.m and 3 p.m., with an addtional 11 a.m. tour on weekends. Tour concludes at the fish ladder where professional naturalists talk about migrating salmon. In October tours are given at 2 p.m. Thursday through Monday each week. Special tours can be arranged for school groups.
