Small Grants for Aquatic Habitat Landowners in the Snoqualmie Watershed
The King Conservation District in partnership with the Snoqualmie Watershed Forum is providing small grants to private and public landowners of up to $30,000 for projects that improve habitat conditions in the tributaries and headwaters of the Snoqualmie Watershed.
2010 Application Deadlines
- Pre-applications due May 17, 2010
- Final applications due August 6, 2010
What types of projects are eligible?
- Livestock exclusion fencing or nutrient management to protect aquatic habitat and water quality
- Replacing culverts and removing other fish passage barriers
- Planting native trees and shrubs along streams, lakes and wetlands
- Removing invasive weeds along streams, lakes and wetlands
- Other restoration, conservation and education activities on
private and public property to protect water quality and improve fish and wildlife habitat - Alluvial fan stream restoration
Who should apply?
- Landowners with streams, lakes or wetlands on their property
- Community groups, non profits and other organizations
- Government agencies and local jurisdictions
