  Circulation/Lending Policy

The Local Hazardous Waste Management Program Library collection is open to Program staff and the public. The Library only loans materials out to King County residents and the Program staff. However, anyone may use our materials on site.

Contact the Library for more information via the contact form; or at (206) 263-3051; FAX (206) 263-3070; or e-mail alice.chapman@kingcounty.gov

The Library will NOT loan out:

  • reference materials (REF in location information)
  • journals (periodicals)
  • slide sets
  • computer software programs, diskettes, or CD-ROMs
Document Delivery & Interlibrary Loan Policy

The Library exists primarily to further the mission of the Local Hazardous Waste Management Program through the work of program staff, and to support businesses and citizens within King County. The Library does not lend directly to individuals who are not citizens of King County.

Interlibrary (library-to-library) loans may be arranged, but are provided on a very limited basis because of budget and personnel constraints. In circumstances where an item can not be obtained from another library, the Library may lend an item to another library at the Librarian's discretion. Materials charged out on interlibrary loan are due back within one month of the charge date and may not be renewed.

Other sources for materials: EPA Reports are often available from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's libraries. Many other books and videos may also be available directly through your local public library or by their interlibrary loan services.
