The Tri-County Endangered Species Act Response Program, was formed in 1999 to develop a response within the central Puget Sound area to the listing of Chinook salmon, bull trout and potentially other fish under the Endangered Species Act, created a number of technical groups to address different issues. One of these, the Tri-County IPM technical group, was charged with developing recommendations for the reduction of pesticide usage by participating jurisdictions. This group developed a model IPM policy and IPM guidelines for use by local jurisdictions.
