If you've searched our site and can't find the information you're looking for, please contact the Household Hazards Line (9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday, except holidays), or send an email to haz.waste@kingcounty.gov. Recorded information is available after hours.
 
Hazards Line staff can also give you information about:

  • Waste reduction strategies
  • Suburban city education and collection events
  • Approvals for large quantities or unusual household hazardous wastes
  • Locations of local businesses that offer motor oil recycling
  • Assistance in screening products
  • How to safely transport household hazardous waste to collection facilities
  • Recommended procedures to minimize risks and promote public safety associated with household hazardous waste
  • Information on waste recycling campaigns

King County residents living outside of the local calling area can call the toll-free number: 1-888-TOXIC-ED (or 1-888-869-4233). A TTY relay service is available at 711 for both local and toll-free calls.
