Onsite Assistance

Most business managers have found they can quickly learn specific ways to manage their hazardous chemicals through one-on-one visits to their site.

For many businesses, it's difficult to translate indirect guidance on waste management into proper practices at their site. On-site technical and regulatory assistance is the key component of our program's outreach work with businesses. By walking through the company's site, trained field staff can readily identify potential problems and offer practical solutions for environmental improvements.

Here are some of the ways we can help your business:

  • You can find out the current best management practices (BMPs) and/or regulations toward proper handling and disposal of small quantity (SQG) hazardous wastes through site visits
  • We may be able to provide a monetary incentive (Voucher Incentive Program) to assist you in your effort toward improving overall management of SQG hazardous waste
  • Offer a recognition incentive through EnviroStars certification, giving businesses an opportunity to acquire increasing levels of public recognition and economic benefit for waste reduction and pollution prevention
  • Meet with professional business groups (e.g. local-state-regional-national trade/business associations, product managers, etc.) to educate you on methods to improve handling of SQG hazardous waste
  • Participate in trade shows, business seminars, industry staff meetings, etc., upon invitation, to further educate on best SQG handling methods
  • Provide information and photos to trade journals, industry newspapers and magazines, and other forms of printed information
