Some businesses generate waste and just want to know who to call to get rid of it. Those quick answers can be found in the Dispose, recycle, exchange pages.
Titles and links to online and print versions of Best Management Practices and Technical Reports can be viewed in the Publications section. They are helpful for those who want to find answers to more in-depth questions, such as:
- What is in my waste that makes it hazardous?
- What can I do so it isn't hazardous any more?
- Should I change products?
- Can I improve the process?
- Can I reduce the amount of waste generated?
- Can I reduce the waste management costs?
- Can I reduce my potential long-term liabilities?
- Are there other issues to be concerned with besides waste management, such as my health, air pollution, water pollution or fire hazards?
Best Management Practices are developed after research into many aspects of waste generation and management. BMPs incorporate requirements of multiple regulations and balance the issues into a few recommendations.
Technical Reports summarize studies completed to assist in developing best management practices, create resource directories, characterize waste or help the LHWMP identify priorities. Technical reports could be a waste sampling study, survey of vendors or estimates of waste quantities in King County.
