IMEX Quarterly Report

"Wastes are resources waiting to be discovered." -- Margo Siekerka, Industrial Recycling Consultant, Illinois

IMEX is a free service designed to help your business find markets for your industrial by-products, surplus materials and wastes. Through IMEX, waste generators can be matched with waste users.

The goal of IMEX is to conserve energy, resources and landfill space by helping businesses and organizations find alternatives to the disposal of valuable materials or wastes.

IMEX is one of the premiere material exchanges of the Pacific Northwest. Businesses, offices, schools, and individuals "advertise" their surplus/unwanted materials, or materials they are seeking, by submitting an electronic IMEX listing form. The listing is then posted on the IMEX web site, which is updated weekly.

You can search for materials on the IMEX web site by browsing the materials categories. There you can find a wide variety of wanted and available materials. Be sure to check out the “Miscellaneous” category for the more obscure items. So if you are looking for someone to take your excess glass slag, or if you are seeking off spec acetone, you may find it in IMEX.

For more information, please contact IMEX directly at (206) 263-8465, or by email at imex@kingcounty.gov
