About the Independent Task Force on Elections

The Independent Task Force on Elections was appointed by the King County Executive to develop short- and long-term recommendations that will have a meaningful and enduring impact on the elections process in King County. Their ultimate goal is to restore public trust in King County's election system not only by improving it, but by building a foundation for King County to have a model elections system for the country.

The Task Force has been appointed with the understanding that it will operate independently of King County. Task Force staff members are not county employees, and the Task Force has full control over its own budget.

The Task Force's preliminary recommendations cover policy, management practices, operations, and public engagement – and have been synthesized from the recommendations made by its subcommittees.

The Task Force welcomes public comments on its recommendations, which it will forward to the King County Executive for his consideration. To provide input on the recommendations of the Task Force, please e-mail electionstaskforce@govlink.org.
